I live in Southern California and we have warm, sunny weather almost year-round.  Since I have a 5 and a 7-year-old, we get invited to a lot of birthday parties at the pool.  And after spending an afternoon with my May kit, I’m a little more prepared for the next round of them!

I took the die cut pack and a few chipboard pieces, along with some crepe paper and other May trims, and created 7 mini cards.  My son and daughter were pretty impressed, and they love the results!

My cards are 3″ x 4″ and the bigger die cuts and chipboard pieces made light work of decorating them.  I just had to add a couple extra details or elements and they were finished–so easy!

I added some texture to a few of the cards, too, with the crepe paper, tulle, and twine.  It helps give them some dimension.  On the cards that didn’t have any special trims, I used 3-dimensional foam dots to get the embellishments to “pop” off the card.

Here’s hoping we don’t get invited to more than 7 parties in the next few months, but if we do, I think I’ll give my kids the leftovers in my May kit and let them make the cards!
