I always make a few cards with my kit supplies; they’re great to have on hand when special occasions come up.  While travel cards aren’t normally in high-demand, they’re still fun to make and I know I’ll end up using them at some point in the future.  One can even double as a good card for my husband since we have a big road trip and 2 anniversaries coming up–yes, 2 wedding anniversaries, that’s not a typo!

Generally, I like to create thick cards and I figured out a fun way to infuse some extra dimension, as well as some bright pops of white, into these 2.  I used the paper shred found in the Make A Pretty Life box in which my August kit came!  I always keep it because I’ll definitely recycle it in a gift bag or box…or I’ll use it on an actual project, like I’ve done here.  The crimped scraps sticking out behind the sentiment layers add a whimsical touch and reinforce the excitement of heading out on a fun vacation.

I simply spread a little craft glue down on the patterned paper and then added the shred on top of it.  I patted it down to try and get an even layer and flatten it slightly to make it easier to attach the décor layer, which I also adhered with glue.  Easy & fun—just like a vacation should be, right?!

So happy you could stop by!
