Are we there yet? Kids seem pre-wired with this question. Wanting to preemptively quiet the questions for our nine-hour ride, I turned to my paper stash and the ADORABLE On Our Way collection into a fun and interactive travel journal!

I’ve been a big fan of Make a Pretty Life and Fancy Pants Designs for years, so this is a bold statement, but this might be my favorite line yet. The fact that it came to my road trip rescue was just the sugar on top.

First, I punched squares from the paper and sketched landmarks along the way. I then hung the cards up in our car window for my girls to take down as sites were passed. Instead of asking if we were there, they knew by the remaining cards how long we had to go. It was a great trick for two young kiddos (ages six and two)!

It was a delightful treat for me, too, as it gave me something to scrapbook when the trip was complete. I snapped a quick pic of the sites as we passed (some we stopped at, others were just drive-bys). I then added the cards and photos to a spread in my traveler’s notebook.

This project came together so quickly, worked wonders on our trip, and was such fun to design with afterwards. I highly recommend this on-the-go idea for any future travels involving kiddos.

Safe travels, friends!
