Pairing paper and planners is one of my favorite creative matches. It makes keeping track of these “lazy days of summer” (ha!) much more exciting! And a creative kit of paper and supplies is just right for taking on the go, which is where I’m often using my planner and traveler’s notebook.
One of my favorite planner inserts to create is a flipping element in between my monthly spread. It gives me one more photo spot to adore, as well as a spot to hold keepsakes from the month. Since this month’s Make a Pretty Life kit includes a large (and SO cute!) envelope, it was just the ticket for making my insert!
I simply punched the end of the envelope to make it attach to my planner. I then dressed it up with other elements from the kit, including the book paper, the sticker, and the pretty resin flower.
For the back, I added one of the adorable sign phrases, also included in this fab kit. It’s fun working in inspirational sayings into planners. They offer a word of encouragement at even the busiest of times.
I didn’t glue this to the pocket. Instead, I punched it and layered it over the pocket so both could flip freely. I like the movement this technique creates.
What’s your summer plan, Fran? If it’s to do some crafting, creative planning is such fun!
TRAVELER’S NOTEBOOK: CRITTER SIGHTINGS
My traveler’s notebook is another constant companion in my handbag. Especially during the summer months. It’s a bite-sized way to document the fun we’re having on the quick.
The frame pattern in this month’s paper pad jumped out at me as soon as I saw it. I knew I wanted to fill the bitty frames with something, so I set to work, doodling and writing.
I decided to turn the sheet into a tracker to capture the list of animals we saw on our latest vacay. Don’t hesitate to mix up your list up. Instead of a basic bullet, think of playful ways to capture details. Even if it includes rather novice doodling. LOL
Inspired by the paper, I attached the main image in a framed fashion by drawing the string and matting the picture on patterned paper from the kit.
Whether you want a large clip for your TN or your planner, this kit has it going on. I ADORE these jumbo clips and dressing them up in various ways. This time around, it was adding the chipboard stickers in the kit.
It’s hard to believe summer is half way over. I’m glad I have these items to remind me that we’re living it up and enjoying the days, even if they are flying by far too quickly. I hope you, too, are having a ball this happy season.
