Today I’ve worked on a gorgeous gift box that sort of just fell into place…

When I was creating the wrapped gift box, I just kept adding to it, and I knew it was going to have a lot of color and a lot of layers.  It has a lot of texture, too–paper, crepe paper, the felt pennant, a wood tag, pompoms, ribbon…and so much more!

Sometimes, it’s all about how things are laid out on my desk while I’m creating.  This is all happenstance and I “happened” to lay the aqua pennant down on top of the yellow crepe paper, which was laying on top of the leaves and striped papers.  From there, I played around with adding and subtracting other elements until I had something I was happy with.

The last detail was the trio of tags, 2 of which I cut from paper, and the bottom one is the smaller wood tag that came in May’s kit.  I added a strip of the aqua washi tape to the bottom and it was the perfect finishing touch.

Sometimes a color mix doesn’t seem to instantly jump out and “work”, but the way this came together was perfect and every piece in the kit made an amazing coordinating accent to create this finished piece.  I think if I were to receive this gift it may never be opened…the wrapping is a gift in itself.  Gorgeous!

Thanks for stopping by!
